Melody Hensley is the former Executive Director of the DC branch of the Center for Inquiry (CFI–DC) and creator and original organizer of the CFI sponsored Women in Secularism conference. She is a CFI Certified Secular Celebrant, legally able to officiate weddings without a religious exemption in Washington, DC. She has a background in volunteering and community building. She has been involved with church-state separation and secular activism, as well as reproductive rights and progressive issues, in the DC area for over a decade. Prior to being Executive Director, Melody served as the CFI–DC Event and Volunteer Coordinator. She is also on the advisory council for Secular Woman Inc. In her life outside activism she is a fashion blogger at the site ‘Fashion: On the Streets of DC’.
